The barn, Burgundy Hill wasn't just any barn, it was a family. It was my second home, and second family. It was great because I could go and do what I love, and that is riding horses. I met some of my best friends there. We've been inseperable every since. | Courtney |
| “Someone Special”
My special person is Michele Kreimeyer. She is my trainer at Hobby Hill farm. Michele is special because she is a great friend. We go to lots of places together like Lake Placid, New York State Fair, Rochester, Ohio, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa. Michele is very special to me also because she is very nice. Whenever I need to talk to someone she will listen. | Lori (written when she was a youngster) |
| Burgundy Hill Memories
Michele’s and Arlene’s barn has been like another home for me. I would go ride every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. I would groom Nutmeg, ride, re-groom and return her to her stall. I made many new friends, we are now “barn sisters”. Its not only the horses we miss it is the whole place itself. It was fun, loving, and full of great times. Everyone cared about each other. All the horses were treated equally, no matter the age or how many show points it had. Everyone is missed including the barn cat Sneaky. Sneaky kept my mom warm on her lap when she was on crutches while watching me ride. Everyone thought she died in the fire, but 2 days later Michele called to say that they found Sneaky hiding in the garage. I’ve had so much fun and learned so much at Burgundy Hill for the three years I have been riding with Michele. Arlene had summer camps and I would bring over one of our horses for the camp week. Arlene would have us help with chores and turnouts then we would ride, jump on foot, have “horse shows” on foot and laugh all day long. The barn has given me wonderful memories. I loved this fun place and I hope and pray we will have a barn again one day. | Katrina |

| Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,
that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends
so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine,
and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;
those who where hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content,
except for one small thing;
they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together,
but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent;
His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group,
flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion,
never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face;
your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet,
so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.… | |
